Chris Sheehy receives prestigious 2026 Hodge Award

12 October 2026

Curt Hofmann & Co is very proud to share that on 10 October 2026, our Mr Chris Sheehy received the prestigious 2026 Hodge Award, presented by the Criminal Lawyers’ Association of Western Australia.

Established in 2001, the Hodge Award recognises a young lawyer who has made a special contribution to the practice of criminal law in Western Australia. It honours the legacy of Andrew Hodge, a respected criminal defence advocate known for his meticulous preparation, commitment to his clients and mentorship of younger lawyers.

Chris was recognised for his work in examining and challenging the lawful limits of police powers, with a focus on protecting an accused’s rights.  His generosity in sharing his knowledge and legal strategies with the broader profession was also acknowledged, reflecting a spirit of collegiality and a commitment to strengthening criminal defence practice across Western Australia.

The award reflects Chris’ dedication to his clients and his determination to ensure that every person he represents receives strong and considered advocacy. His careful preparation, sound judgment and personal attention to each matter embody the standards we uphold at Curt Hofmann & Co.

Upon receiving the award, Chris said:

“It is a real honour to receive the Hodge Award. Recognition from colleagues who understand the demands and responsibilities of criminal practice means a great deal to me.”

We warmly congratulate Chris on this well-deserved recognition.
